VINTAGE WW2 BLACK SILK SCARF OF THE ROYAL CANADIAN AIR FORCE – Per Ardua Ad Astra A STRIKING BLACK SILK AIRMAN’S SCARF WITH GOLD AND BLUE FRINGE AND FELT EFFECT BADGE DESIGN – IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. THE DESIGN FEATURES AN EAGLE WITH OUTSTRETCHED WINGS AND THE LETTERING ‘Per Ardua Ad Astra’ WITH ‘Royal Canadian Air Force’ BENEATH. IT IS SURMOUNTED WITH A KING’S CROWN. THE ROYAL CANADIAN AIR FORCE WAS FOUNDED IN 1920 AND GRANTED ROYAL SANCTION IN 1924 BY KING GEORGE V. DIMENSIONS: 40” x 14.5” (excluding fringe) THE BACK OF THE SCARF IS PLAIN AND THE EDGES ARE FOLDED AND STITCHED. A SCARF IN EXCELLENT CONDITION WITH A STRIKING DESIGN.
