WW2 Vintage PX Service Men’s Sewing Kit World War II PX service men’s sewing kit: includes box, 2 spools of thread and 13 buttons. Buttons are either white (2) or a shade of brown / grey / olive drab (11): 1” (1), 7/8” (1), ¾” (1), 11/16” (3), 9/16” (3), ½” (4). See photos. Box and contents are as found in my mother’s button box. My father was the original owner. Note: The description on the back of the box lists a total of 12 buttons. However, since I’m not sure which button found in the box is not original to the box, I’m including all 13 buttons found in the box. Interesting: Description lists “3 underwear buttons” since elastic / rubber was reserved for the war effort. Feel free to email me with any questions not answered by the photos and this description.
