This listing represents a very poignant, WWI US Home Front Sweetheart Piece. You have a patriotic holder for letters and pictures sent home from a doughboy overseas to his sweetheart. The embroidery is spectacular and colors are vibrant. When folded, the letter holder displays an American Flag with the words, Long May It Wave. Below is USA for either our country or US Army. When you open up the letter holder you have a 48 Star Flag that constitutes the pouch for the pictures and letters. Above is a scene showing the soldier with his sweetheart, and the soldier standing guard with his rifle and campaign cap. T is a sentiment entitled Sweet Memories and an Eagle over this. T is a lot going on with this nostalgic item. T colors are vibrant and the wording is legible. T is wear to the cover (the item is at least ninety-one years old). It crosses several genres of collection including WWI, the AEF, Home Front, Army, Sweetheart items, and 48 Star Flags. The winning bidder may opt for First Class Postage with Padded Bag and tracking slip in lieu of the standard Priority Mail option. I specialize in WWII militaria; however, on occasion I do diversify within my listings. Amongst my WWII items this week, I am listing a number of caps, uniform items, field gear, insignia, ribbons, home front items, etc., this week. Please do a seller-search
