T is one small piece of the cover missing which can be seen in the last photograph. Otherwise the cover is about as good as it gets for a World War One German canteen. I never unsnapped the cover to see if t is a manufacturer or date. I was afraid I might break a snap so I will leave that to the new owner. I found the cup several years later and put it with this canteen. I am pretty sure it is World War One, but I think it may be German Navy. It has a gold coloured interior. The cup has wear and some rust. Overall the two pieces are very nice. The winning bidder pays $7.50 shipping and handling in the US.
