Original and excellent WWI U.S. M1917 Enfield Rifle Bayonet and Scabbard. Bayonet was manufactured by REMINGTON and is so marked on the ricasso, also marked US, and dated 1917. Blade remains in its full 17 inches of length, never sharpened, not nicked, and is only dry oiled stained in places. Wooden handles are all intact and in superb condition. Pommel and crossguard are excellent as well and retain most of their original factory blued finish. Leather scabbard with metal fittings is original to the bayonet, is all intact, lightly mfg. marked and government inspected on back, and has most of its original OD green paint remaining intact. Overalll a super nice original M1917 Bayonet and Scabbard. This bayonet would have been correct and used on all U.S. M1917 Enfield Rifles during WWI and all U.S. Combat Shotguns (Trenchguns) during WWII. Absolutely 100% guaranteed to be an original.
