Remington Manufactured M1917 Bayonet and Scabbard in Very Good to Excellent Condition. All markings are present and very clear. This bayonet fits the M1917 bolt action rifle and all Trench Shotguns from World War One through Vietnam. Model 1897 and Model 1912 Winchester, etc. Bayonet was manufactured in 1918 and is marked with the circular REMINGTON, US, Eagle's Head and the Flaming Bomb ordnance stamp. The wooden grips are in very good condition as well. This bayonet measures over 21 Inches long with a nearly 17 inch blade. I don't think I've ever seen one with the finish in such Excellent condition. The finish to all the metal parts is bright and clear and has no corrosion or rust. The locking mechanism functions perfectly. The scabbard is in very good to excellent condition as well and is very solid. The Scabbard is Marked with a W stamped into the Leather. I'm not sure if the means it is a Winchester scabbard or not, but the W stamp is present in the pictures below.. I recently saw a picture of Marines using M1917 Rifles with these bayonets in the South Pacific during the very early days of World War Two. I didn't realize these were used in WWII. You will not be disappointed with this bayonet and scabbard, both are very solid, in great condition and complete. You will be surprised when you see it. See pics for all markings and
