This is a WWI Dobbs Ferry, New York Service Medal. It is a very good quality gilt medal with a design unique to this village's award. The medal was made by Braxmaar Co., which made a lot of earlier NYS material, but made very little during WWI. The quality of this medal would suggest that the village spent a lot more on it than the communities that ordered "stock" medals from Whitehead and Hoag. Cornwall is a village in the lower Hudson Valley. Ex-Paul Till NYS medal collection. In the next month, I will be offering 200 different New York State WWI local Service Medals. This will include may scarce issues. About half of them are from the famous Paul Till New York State Medal collection, which I acquired in 1982. Those will come in his distinctive envelopes, which have the medal information typed on them. Illustrated at 150%. Excellent condition. NO RESERVE !!! Buyer pays $3.00 for insured postage. I will combine postage on multiple orders. PAY PAL, check or money order, please. Thanks. George B. Harris, P.O. Box 1136, Alfred, NY 14802.
