TWO - WWI Silk Handkerchiefs Souvenir of FRANCE Embroidery & Lace Description: Two cream silk embroidered hankies trimmed in lace, and dating to the era of the Great War. One has the four crossed flags of the allies and is dedicated "To my dear mother". The other has an American flag in the form of a flower together with the flag of France and "Souvenir of France". These are hankies sent home by a US soldier to his family. They are in clean but shabby condition, with many small holes. We have very carefully washed and pressed them for you. Some of the dye from the embroidery ran very very lightly, which is often the case. Enlarge our photos for nice close up views of the condition and design.
