This auction is for a WWI Marine Corps enlisted men’s winter uniform (tunic and trousers). Please see the attached images. This uniform is from my 61 year old collection. The tunic is in very fine condition. All of the Marine Corps buttons are present. It has two overseas chevrons, USMC sergeant stripes, and a 3 rd Battalion, 6 th Marine Regiment patch. The patch is silk and hand painted, although it is frayed, the patch is very beautiful (see images). USMC sergeant stripes are present on the right sleeve, as well. Attached to the front of the tunic are period ribbons and USMC Expert Rifleman shooting badge. The trousers are in exceptional condition. These trousers appear to have never been worn or have been worn only a few times. I found, only, one moth hole about 1/8 inch in diameter, otherwise the trousers retain their creases. All of the Marine Corps and USM buttons (tacks) are present. They are white metal (see images). The trousers are stamped, “U. S. Marine Corps, 1918 – 1919” and “W M WAGNER,” as well as, “1 – S.” There is a “half belt,” U. S. Marine Corps suspender buttons, as well as, belt loops on these trousers. This is an exceptional uniform and would be a great addition to any collection. Please see all of the images that appear with this auction and ask any questions before bidding.
