This ia a WWI german imperial sword that was aquired during WWII. The entire blade has pitting and the last 11 inches of the blade is bent as shown in picture. The first 12 inches of the blade has an engraving design on both sides. On one side t is some engraved writing, and some of it is hard to make out but this is what it looks like to me: Zur Erinnerung ax meine Dienstreit 1910 - 12. I am not good at reading german writing but this should be close. The sword also has engraving on the crossguard that looks like Gerr Steiner 3/49.
