US MARINE COPS I'd HEL MET: THIS IS AN AU CTION... FOR AN ORIGINAL WWII ERA ISSUED AND USED BY A MARINE, STEEL POT HELMET SHELL WITH CHIN STRAPS(NO LINER) AS MADE BY THE SCHLUETER CO. (NOT McCORD RADIATOR) LATE 19 44. ****NO RESERVE****DESCRIPTION: This M1 Steel Pot HELMET SHELL has the sewn chinstraps with a stamped J hook. onto a swivel bail. The SHELL has the original cork finish and a slight rust in original paint Patina. No dent s of fracture cracks! This shell was made between 1943-1944 by the SCHLUETER CO. , S t. Lo uis, Mo. The RIM is FRONT seamed....Since the rim in "Not ref lective" I believe it to be a maganese late 1944 manufact ured not stainless steel . It has a heat stamp number o f" 441A". Inside is inked a Marines named in fo" USMCR H.J. Beuchert 1039622". No other info available. This is a GREAT helmet to put your perfect Liner into and display and or collect.
