This auction is for a: WWII Authentic Chinese Nationalist Blood Chit Flag *** This auction is for one (1) authentic and original Chinese Nationalist flag. It is constructed out of multiple pieces of cotton and is 29 inches long and 16 3/4 inches wide. The red field, and the blue field are two separate pieces that are machine sewed together to form the main flag. T is a white cloth strip that is approximately 1 1/2 inches wide and has some Chinese letter writen on it. The blue field has the eleven (11) point Chinese Nationalist star. Each of these points is a triangular shaped piece of white cloth that is machine sewed to the blue background. The center of the star is a 4 1/4 inch white circle that is sewed in the center that forms the star. This flag is like the "Blood Chit" type of flag carried by United States Pilots and air crews that flew over China during World War II and was intended to be used if the plane was shot down or landed in China . It would have been used to help identify the service members as being friendly to the Chinese. This flag is in the very good condition for it age.
