Hello,You are bidding on a WWII vintage British Army Canteen in Very Good condition. I am of the opinion that this particular canteen was never issued, but that is just my opinion. The canteen has it's wool cover intact with no flaws, holes, or tears. The cork looks new it is not broken or cracked from use. The suspension webbing and shoulder strap are complete. The shoulder strap has a manufacture stamp on it of 1942 (see photo). T is very slight surface corrosion on one of the strap buckles and some slight rust on the suspension webbing snap that holds the canteen, this can be easily removes with a little brushing. T are also some slight stains on the webbing that may be from mildew but I'm not sure, again these would probably clean up just fine with some soap and water. Over all this is a very fine example of its type and is ready for use in reenacting, or in a collection of WWII British Army gear.Thanks for looking and good luck.
