Up for sale is a McCord Radiator manufactured, swivel bale, front seam helmet (ca. October '43-August '45) with a post-war liner, reproduction liner chinstrap and leather head band, and an origional 2" camoflage net! The shell appears to have been repainted a long time ago and has scorch marks on the outside dome and scratch marks on the inner dome w the soldier used the helmet as a cooking pot. It also has some dents in the crown and nice patina around the rim. The swivel bales are solid and the webbing is olive drab shade no. 7 with flat steel chin strap buckle (ca. November '44-August '45). The chin straps have both OD no. 7 and OD no. 3 Bar Tack stitching and the long strap is stamped "D-2840".The liner is a post WWII CAPAC/Westinghouse manufacture and marked "51". The webbing is OD no. 7, HBT. It is partially torn at the front "A" washer and at the nape strap (see photos). The decals are for the First Army on both sides of the liner and the chin strap and head band are "At The Front" reproductions. The number "22" is painted on the inner right side in OD no. 7 paint and t is a 1 1/4" crack on the same side. Overall a very solid liner. The net is a period manufactured 2" without rips or tears. This is a very nice, solid helmet which would be great for reenacting or display. Buyer pays all shipping charges. I charge only actual read more
