This auction is for one (1) Used WWII Pioneer Compass with mount for the M5A1 Stuart Light Tank. These Compasses are very rare and hard to find, especially with the proper brass mount. I originally acquired this for my own M5A1, but when I sold the tank, it was still unrestored, so I kept my spares. This will make a great Christmas present for yourself, and your tank. I am starting the bidding at what to some may seem high, but if you can find one cheaper, or at all, let me know. Another one sold recently for $550.00 with no fluid, and the compass card was off the post. This one is in good shape and works well. Because of that, I am charging insurance on top of shipping, because the way the US Post Office treats mail, there is the chance it may be damaged by rough handling. In case some of you do not know where this goes in the tank, it bolts to the left top of the differential case. I have found that for some reason, some Stuarts do not have the place to mount the compass. Like all compasses, other than the “HULL” turret compass, used in armored vehicles, it has compensating magnets to be adjusted so the compass gives a true reading with all the armor surrounding it.
