This is an authentic original WWII German M31 helmet liner. It is guaranteed wartime original in all ways. Outer suspension band stamp marked: 68 n. A over 61. A maker's mark/date reads : DRP over SCHUBERTH-WERKE over K- over BRAUNSCHWEIG over 1938 . This stamping occurs just behind the right side D-ring on the reinforced aluminum outer suspension band. This liner leather is exceptional in condition with a little wear damage around the rim & stains from useage, but no tears or weak spots. The original tie string is absent. The spring leaves of the inner band are all present, unbroken & in very good shape, and show the lacquer coating to prevent rust, originally specified for M31 liner production, and the aluminum inner band itself has no unwanted bends. This liner would be very nice for display, either by itself or carefully installed in a size 68 M35 helmet shell. This guaranteed to be an entirely authentic original WWII German helmet liner.
