A Long-Bladed (13 1/4 in.) Police Bayonet with leather sheath made by Eickhorn. Both the throat of the scabbard and the rear of the cross guard are marked "S.W.I. 308" The ricasso has the Eickhorn logo clearly die-struck in the bright metal of the blade. The logo is clear and complete with the very early squirrel. Note the CE under the squirrel. The blade and and crossguard are of bright shiny nickel-silver or chrome. The blade is very bright with no nicks to the edge and with no flaking or lifting of the finish whatsoever. The tip of the blade has a minor dark spot on both sides, but t is no lifting to the finish. The spine of the blade is marked with as Asterisk over a K . The scabbard is of leather and nickel silver. All stitching is solid and complete. T is a slight bulge in the leather about 1/2 in. from the throat fitting. See photo below. The throat spring retaining screw is present. The ball at the tip of the bayonet is undented. The handles are held in place by two silver rivets. The rivets are domed in front and hammered flat in the rear. The handle is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. The stag handles are in excellent condition with good color. T is a re-drill hole at the base of the front piece of the handle as is common with these bayonets. The eagle on the handle is correct and original. The pommel read more
