I have sold many theater knives over the past 12 years and this is right up there in the top five. This was purchased from brain dead sixty something son at his garage sale. "Edward Williams" made this in the P.I. from a bayonet blade and scavenged parts. The handle I thought was buffalo horn but under the loupe it proved to be mahogany, polished and jigged with a hot nail, then painstakingly carved to receive his intials fabricated from some aluminum shards. Nice improvised pommel attachment , the guard soldered tightly to the brass bolster and tang. Stipple work 7 17 I would assume is a date his full initials on the reverse side, ESW. Knife measures 11.5" with a 7" blade. Check the pix carefully, my feedback and email with questions. I will ship the knife USPS first class fully insured for 5 bucks!
