WWII HELMET M40 (From German/Crotian Elite Unit) RELIC This helmet was strictly a yard sale find. It had all kind of graffity on it so I decided to clean it up and see if t was anything underneath. T was still some paint on the top that refused to come off so left it t in case it belong t What I uncovered on the right side of the helmet was the remains of a decal (still legible). I consulted several books at the library on WWII decals, and it appears that this decal represented a special unit of the Croatian Waffen SS. The helmet is a relic in that t is damage on the top (a bullet hole in the top would indicate what happened to the wearer). If anyone out t has any additional information on this helmet, let me know.
