WWII Japanese Type 30 "Last Ditch" Bayonet with Wooden Scabbard - Jinsen Aresenal Marked Up for Auction is a WWII Japanese Type 30 "Last Ditch" Bayonet with Wooden Scabbard. This is an expecially nice example of this rare bayonet. The bayonet is in Very Good to Excellent Condition. It has 80% or better of it's original bluing left. The blade appears to have been resharpened at some point in time. The proof markings show it was manufactured by the Jinsen Arnsenal. The serial number, 338589, is located on the back of the metal grip tang. The bayonet has blue blade, no fullers, straight contour hilt, straight riveted grips and a rectangular pommel. The wooden scabbard is Excellent Condition considering how fragile this material is. It is made of two panels of wood, with two pieces of thin canvas wrapped around the wook. The wood is also held in place by the metal bayonet frog loop at the top and a metal tip at the bottom. The wood has been painted a dark green color. I would estimate that 85% of the paint remains. T is a crack in one of the wooden panels This "Last Ditch" Bayonets are a VERY RARE variant of the Type 30, especially with an intact wooden scabbard. This would be a Great additional to any WWII Imperial Japan Collection. For all you collectors of the Type 38 or Type 99 Arisaka Japanese Battle Rifles. Please see photos. read more
