This is a first class theater made knife with sheath. The sheath is commercial and is stamped with the number 2278 as if it is a model number. The sheath is very sound and is made of brown colored finished leather. It is exactly the same color as the WWII corcoran brown paratrooper boots. I am sure it was military issue by this fact.IT fits this knife like a glove. The knife was probably rehandled by the soldier. It has black and red bakelite grips with aluminum spacers. The blade is 7 3/4 inches long and is round tipped like a divers knife. The blade finish was bright and was lightly buffed to clean it. It shows very little if any sharpening. It still has some great age patins on it. This old girl was some ones pride and joy during the war. How many G.I.s came up to it's owner and said "Hey Mac, let me see your pig sticker. These things are truely a piece of history.
