US GI issue M1 Steel helmet. Good Condition. Nice cork texture and OD paint. The Combat Infantry Division insignia has been hand painted on this helmet and the liner to resemble a complete WWII 78th Infantry helmet. The 78th division is also referred to as the Lightning Division. This Helmet is a rear seam version of an original. The M1 helmet has od green "chin straps".The liner is not original to this helmet, and it is a newer version of teh WWII style helmet liners, hand painted in the proper OD green color. This set would be a great addition to your collection or display. See pictures. Reference the pictures and please ask questions prior to bidding. Item is just like the equipment used in: "Combat", Battleground, Saving Private Ryan, When the Trumpets Fade, The Bridge at Remagen, The Longest Day, Battle of The Bulge and other similar WWII shows / movies.
