Original WWII Order of the Patriotic War, 1st Class, Type 1, Variation 3. Established 20 May 1942. Awarded to officers and enlisted men of the armed forces and security troops and to partisans, irrespective of rank, for skillful command of their units in action. On a rectangular larger suspension, 32mm wide x 22mm high. 2 rivets on back. Hand engraved serial number "16107". Screw back is mint marked. Still has its back plate. Red enamelled star has one arm with a small nick and another arm of the star has a small chipped area at its point. The white enameled circle has two small hairline cracks towards the gilt star. Gold Hammer & sickle have very small nicks and wear from use. Measures 43mm wide overall x 48mm long (including ring). Listed with no reserve and low starting bid!
