WWII PB4Y (B-24)Crew Flight Log, insignia & Class Book - VB-112 - Africa, EnglandGrouping to George Atwater who served as a crewman on a PB4Y - a B-24 converted for Naval use in anti-shipping and anti-submarine operations. Comes with a nice Bullion sleeve insignia, his class year book and his original flight log showing many anti-submarine patrols out of Florida in 1944. Then transferred to North Africa in Aug. 1944 flying many missions - convoy coverage, anti-submarine scrambles and bombing missions. In Feb. 1945 he transferred to England - many submarine patrols dropping depth charges, etc., convoy escort, etc. In July 1945 he got the new PB4Y-2 "Privateer" and flew missions on it until war's end.
