Despite being made for the British Air Ministry they were popular and mysteriously found there way on many an American Pilot's A-2 jacket. The whistles were usually worn on the neck catch. The whistle is stamped ' The Acme Thunderer Made in England'. This is a replica of the British Air Ministry issue Life saver whistle. It is the original & genuine English made 'Acme Thunderer' and has the correct air ministry stamp and ordinance number. This whistle comes from the famous Acme Whistle company, still in operation today and is not dissimilar to the original whistles.
