This is a genuine issue U.S. Army field desk from WWII and is in fantastic condition for it's age. Closed up it measures 15" high, 20 1/2" wide, and 15 1/2" deep. It is marked with black "US" on the front, the part that folds down to create the writing area...it has a locking hasp at the top front and two heavy duty lock clips , one on each side..I do not have the key but it opens fine as it isn't locked..it has four drawers with oak fronts(see picture)..the leather handles on the sides are mint...the metal tag on top contains the following information: stock No. 26-D-135 tent spec. co,s No 101B-27-10-43 TYPE II cont.No.w11-009 QM-18890 CO.MD. 1-8-44 The Beals & Selkirk Trunk Co. ....condition is extremely nice but are all the things I see that detract at all...very slight scuffing on the bottom(retains atleast 98% of original paint)..several numbers were written on the back panel, for what purpose I do not know and would most likely be easy to remove if one was of a mind to do so...the right hand drawer has a lock in it..it is slightly corroded, surface only, easy to clean, again no key...slight mustyness but not excessive....I believe it to be complete and as stated the condition is excellent...please ask any and all questions before bidding. This is a heavy item, I guess about 30 pounds = shipping will be at actual cost read more
