This is a great find. Mountedin the cockpit of AAF aircraft this is an original WWII IFF box. During mission briefing's Pilots were advised of the colors for the day. When aircraft approached during missions the Pilot would use a series of coded colors for identification. This allowed for identification of friendly or enemy aircraft if the series of coded colors were transmitted correctly. This IFF box is in used very good condition and removed from a scrapped fighter many years ago. Makes a great display or ideal for your next P-51 Mustang escort mission to Berlin. Truly a hard to find component. Check out my other items ! COMBINED SHIPPING NOTICE : I am happy to combine shipping to save costs. Please note that this applies to auctions within a 5 day period.
