Excellent condition, original US WWII USMC fixed-bale, front-seam, M1 helmet with 1st pattern camo HBT cover and Westinghouse liner with an original green buckle leather chin strap. The helmet retains its original OD paint, cork finish and fixed bales with original light OD/ khaki chin straps and brass hardware. The helmet has a crack in the front, about 1" and a small, punched hole that might have been made to attach a brass E,G & A insignia. The Westinghouse liner also retains its original OD paint, and solid light OD/ khaki webbing with mid-war OD A washers. The sweatband is intact, with some sweat stains and some very minor surface cracking, but the leather is still soft and supple. The best feature is the rare, mid-war green-buckle leather chin strap, with minimal surface cracking - still soft and pliable. The reversable camo HBT cover has a few small holes, rust stains and the usual cut-outs for the chin straps. The cover retains very strong color on both sides. This is an outstanding, complete example of an early to mid war USMC helmet. Delivery confirmation and insurance included in shipping costs.
