WWII 1940'S WOMEN'S IKE JACKET COMPLETE MILITARY NURSE'S MILITARY MEDIC UNIFORM LOT13 PC INCL-PIN BACKS & BADGES "WOMENS AMBULANCE & TRANSPORTATION CORPS of CALIFORNIA" ALL ORIGINAL 1940'S NURSES COMPLETE ID'D UNIFORM LOTWORN IN SERVICE IN WWII Historical uniform set, some pieces are museum quality, to me. Our "First Responders" on the home front in Ca., later in World War ll ID'd to Miriam McGlashan-Presidio Ave in San Francisco. Uniform has seen service but in in excellent vintage condition. Amazing set. Stored since war. No tears, odors or bad issues! Wearable and displayable! Rare set as I only find a one online and it is in a collection. Rare, as there were only a relatively small amount of women who belonged. From home front to war in the early 40's, this is a one of a kind as complete as it is whether for display, re-enactment or resale or personal wear. The killer cropped short, short original Ike jacket is so on trend fashion wise for personal wear. In excellent vintage condition with NO serious issues (excep t the shirt has two stains, see below) , way less than normal wear, to me. I am no expert, but this is a lovely collectable group. All stored away for over 65 years.Includes: Total of 13 pcs. Ike jacket, skirt, shirt, hat, tie, Nurses shoes, unused First Aid patch, 2 pin backs, spoked wheel cross patch, 2 double chevron stripes on each sleeve. Also included is old suitcase she stored these pieces in for 70 years. All in excellent to minty vintage condition (shirt has 2 spot issues, see below). Has seen service use, but in remarkable shape, especially to have matching set from this distinguished not very well know group that served so admirably in the 1940's in WWII. So few ladies uniforms in such wearable/displayable condition. Sorry about bad photos, too much to photograph and no room!* Ike jacket: almost vintage mint-very short and cropped. Heavy khaki twill, Fit S-XS-id label with name , measurements, "the City of Paris" label from Los Angeles (manufacturer?), plus cloth tag "11-200" in pocket. Amber bakelite-type buttons with silver dot in middle. Measures 38" bust, 17.5" length (very cropped and short) 23.5" sleeves. S/XS . Small fit, very little wear, almost, dare I say, vintage minty? Has 2 chevron patches, 1-2 1/2" brown spoked wheel cross (medic, I would suppose) on sleeves, 1-3" WATCC gold tone pin-back, 1-1" gold tone bar pinback. Beautiful piece.* Uniform skirt, front kick pleat, side brass Talon zipper, double metal clasp to close on side. Excellent vintage condition. Heavy khaki twill. Larger size, should fit 10-12 in today's sizes. Waist 30", hips 40", length, 27", 3.5" hem. Guaranteed matching skirt-no labels. No issues. Naturally all could use a freshening up as have been stored for over 65 years. All have a beautiful hand and craftsmanship.*Shirt/tunic shirt-nice and long tails! Label: "Wind Whipper" Cameron Sanforized Napa Calif. 833-15-31. Fit small. Measures: 38" bust, 32" in length (tailored long tails and fit) 21.5" sleeves. Excellent vintage condition but has 2 marks on arm seam below shoulders-one eraser size rusty-like spot, other is same but larger (1/2 dollar size) with a small hole, like it was put away with perhaps a pin and it seeped in . Tailor could patch, cannot get a good photo. Of all pieces in this set, this is the only issue to note.*Neck tie-13" peachy tan, close around neck with metal clasp, excellent vintage condition with some soil marks on front, and seems to have been dry cleaned in her service as rayon is "shiny" in places. But a great piece.*Hat, 10" long, like new with the 1 3/4" spoked-brown cross patch.*3 7/8" round "FIRST AID W.A.T.C.C." canvas patch on original twill square background, unused. Spoked brown wheel with cross.* Original Nurses Shoes: "Smart Steppers by Burnison" lace up oxford heels, nurses oxford shoes, perforated trim, stacked Cuban like wood heel, leather soles. Labeled a vintage 10 aaaa, but will fit a 8.5-9. I wear an 8 B and they are a bit long but I could wear. Sturd... read more
