Hi all, I'm back again with more exciting photos and documents from my Grandpa's estate. For those who don't know me, my Grandpa was an armorer in the 479th Fighter group, 435th squadron . He primarily worked with P-38 Mustangs and P-51 Mustangs. He was Honorably Discharged in 1952. This is likely to be the last group of photos I list for quite some time, as I have a lot of other things calling for my attention, so get a piece of history while you can. This photo is approx 5x5 inches, black and white. Hoperhofen Germany from 10,000 feet. On the bottom appears the following: 0-479-7-4 25-3-45 44-15470-63/8-10000 Hoperhofen These photos and other memorabilia are original documents. The photos are not press/AP photos. He did sometimes have more than one copy of a particular photo, but the majority are either only 1 copy, sometimes 2. These photos and documents are over 60 years old. When you receive your items, conditions such as bent/rounded/creased corners and photos are to be expected. Yellowing is common. Many have writing on them, or marks on them from someone writing something else when the photos were underneath the paper being written on. None of these photos are perfect.
