Here the M1 Carbine collector finds a pair of vintage rifle stocks. The pair are in fair overall shape and will need repaired then restored. The one to the right is walnut. The sling slot cartouche / stamping is not readable. The cartouche on the right butt area appears to have been scratched out. Both have cracks that will need repaired and the rear trigger housing area near the screw hole have chipping on both. The walnut stock has a long crack (is very much fixable) that runs off the right underside to the top of the wood. The birch stock has about a 4 inch crack that runs up the left side of the wood / underside. There is some dings and light chipping surrounding this hairline. The birch stock has 2012 stamped on the underside of the pistol grip; number 189 is painted on the left butt section of this stock. No metal is included with either rifle stock.
