RARE, RARE, RARE, RARE Command and Control North Recon Illinois, Khe Sanh US Special Forces - Recon Illinois - US Special Forces - Khe Sanh Based. It is a rarity to find a Recon Illinois patch of the MACV-SOG's Command and Control North. T were two spearate RT Illinois, Special Forces Units serving at any given time in Vietnam, one operating with Command and Control Central (considerably different design), and this unit under the command of CCN at Da Nang and operating out of the Forward Operation Launch Base at Khe Sanh. RT Illinois were at Khe Sanh, conducting un-conventional and classified operation into Laos and cross border in North Vietnam from early 1968 in reply to actions of the Tet Offensive before returning to operate out of Danang in mid-1968. RT Illinois (CCN) had a complement of US Special Forces and Nung Hill-Tribesmen within the Unit. Patch - Excellent rare Piece, not to be missed.
