Here is an interesting group of five envelopes plus an attractive 1905 postcard from various parts of Yale University to institutions or colleagues in Europe, or domestically in one case. They are in fine condition except where noted. -- A simple but elegrant Greetings from Yale postcard showing the Ivy League University's seal and sent from New Haven CT in Dec 1905. It was sent to a professor in Ghent, Belgium, and bears a Gand Arrivee mark of that month. The card was published by EA Sherman of Hartford CT. -- Four 1980-81 envelopes from the Yale Center for British Art to the Museums Association and/or Museums Journal in London England. Three envelopes have printed or handstamped corner cards for the center and the fourth, which is a small envelope, has the address printed on the back. One was sent by surface mail and shows an unusual usage of the 25c Douglass Prominent Americans stamp. -- Two Yale School of Forestry postal stationery corner card covers, one with 2c Washington value sent in 1931 to a Dr Harper in Tallahassee FL and one with a 3c stationery value sent to the same professor a year later a the U of Alabama (not pictured). These items have been overlapped to fit on the scanner but all are full and complete. This lot includes the new, much higher Royal Mail postage rates, but I have tried to keep my increases to a minimum. read more
