Yard long photo titled at bottom: "Co. F, 101st Engineers, A.E.F., April, 1919". Location (name of fort) unknown. Some of these soldier-engineers are holding rifles. Check out the wonderful expressions and different facial types. Few, if any, look happy. The barracks building looks like it was already ancient in 1919. Sign next to doorway says: "All men not members of Company F must obtain permission at the orderly room to enter this barrack. Offenders subject to immediate arrest". Original frame has some damage but I have cherished it for years as a complete original piece. WW1 was essentially over when this photo was taken, but the formal treaty may not yet have been signed. Were they training to go overseas when the war ended? Who knows. 37 1/2 X 9 1/2 inches., taken by Pyle Photo Co., Waltham. Mass. These photos are essential pieces of U.S. military history and commemorate WW1 which began 100 years ago this year. I will be selling others in my collection during the coming weeks. U.S. sales only, please. My policy on this photo is that it is not returnable; I believe I have provided a complete and honest representation.
