This is a Yashica Mat-124G which we purchased new that has had virtually no use at all. When we first purchased it we ran one or two films through it with good results; it was then packed away and forgotten until 3 years ago when we moved and I came across it again. I then in turn could not resist it - I ran a film through it - quite expensive to have developed; anyway, the results were superb. Since then it has just been stored away in a clean and dry environment. We have got a private collection of old vintage cameras and accessories which I have been selling on ebay - we just like cameras but do not necessarily use them. Enough of me waffling on! The camera is in absolutely superb condition having only had 3 films through it to the best of my knowledge since new. I have taken many photos from all directions in bright sunlight - the best way to see it really; it shows you its true condition. It comes complete with its fitted case, front original lens cap and instruction manual. A nice camera for a collector although, to be honest, I would rather someone put it to use as it has laid dormant for so long. The shutter on it even right down to 1 second sounds perfect - just as it was when it was new. When it was stored away I removed the battery of course. I replaced the battery back in the camera, lifted the hood and away she goes - the light meter works OK and I would imagine is accurate because of the results when I ran the last film through it. Now to the down side. When you look through both lenses they are both bright and clear - no fungus or dirt, but the taking lens has got a strange circle in the middle of it which did not make any difference to my photographs but I just cannot understand it. If you look on the last 2 photographs you can see what I mean. Hold it to the light and then hold it to a darker subject and you can see the circle. Initially, I thought it was a reflection on the lens but looking at it more closely, it may be the balsam separating on the lens - I am just being extremely accurate and fussy in my description - I hope you understand this. I contacted a camera collector/repair company just outside Bristol and he advised just having the lens serviced/cleaned and that would rectify the problem even if he had to separate the lenses - a simple job for him, I would not dream of doing it myself. Anyway, the camera is original; it has never been touched and has never gone wrong. A very nice, genuine, one-owner, hardly used immaculate medium format camera. I am sure the enthusiast out there will know all about it. I would just put a film through it and use it. Anyway, if it is of interest to you - here it is for sale. Just look at my pictures - that is the best way to judge it - at least you know what you are getting. I do not charge for any packaging - just the Royal Mail postage cost to you. I have been asked by various ebayers if the delayed action works on the camera and the answer to this is yes - just follow the instruction book and it all works. The self-timer is smooth and constant right down to the moment it releases the shutter. Also I have been asked if the lining is good inside the case; the answer is yes - it is bright red.
