Greetings. You are bidding on a Bowen Designs mini bust of "YELLOWJACKET (CLASSIC Yellow Costume)" the legendary Marvel Comics super hero and member of the Avengers. This Bowen Designs mini bust was sculpted by Randy Bowen. General Information about the statue from the Bowen Designs web site: YELLOWJACKET min-bust Sculpted by: Randy Bowen Released: December, 2002 Order of Release: Phase I (bust #72) Edition Size: 4000Note: Actual production 3000General Information: This statue stands 5.5" tall (1/8 th scale), is fully painted, and is ready to display. The statue is a strictly limited edition. The number of this particular statue is "241/4000" (the number is on the bottom of the statue and on a tag on the bottom of the box). Character Notes: (from the side of the box):"YELLOWJACKET Then & Now The Earth's mightiest heroes first felt the bite of Yellowjacket in December 1968 [ The Avengers #59]. A grandstanding egoist with artificial wings and incapacitating stingers, Yellowjacket buzzed into the Avengers' headquarters, boasting that he had eliminated their teammate Goliath and was taking his place! Even more shocking was the Wasp's attraction to this rogue. The Avengers soon learned that Yellowjacket was actually a previously repressed personality of Hank Pym, the size-changing champion alternately known as Ant-Man, Giant-man and Goliath. After marrying the Wasp as Yellowjacket, Pym's benign personality re-emerged. Over the years he has suffered emotional lapses and violent episodes, until stabilizing psychologically-and heroically, as Goliath. However, the return of the brazen Yellowjacket has once again given the Avengers concern for Pym's mental health." Mini Bust Description: This mini bust features YELLOWJACKET in his original yellow and black costume. He is presented from the waist up, with his fists clenched and ready for combat on a black cube base. Condition: The statue is in near mint to mint condition, and was owned and displayed by an adult collector in a smoke-free home. No defects. The box is in very nice condition (very minor shelf wear). The box features color photos of the statue. Overall, a beautiful example of the sculptor's (and painter's) art. This mini bust is long sold out and out of production. A 'must' for the Bowen or Marvel Comics, statue, figurine or bust collector, or anyone who loves a wicked cool comic book collectible. A scarce and early Bowen mini bust.
