YEMEN (Royalist/MKY) – SCARCE 1969 Life of Christ Paintings, 2 IMPF sheets, MNH In 1969 the Mutawakelite Kingdom of Yemen issued 2 beautiful sheetlets depicting the life of Christ on 30 masterpieces. These two IMPERFORATE sheetlets (much more scarce that the perforated ones) have scenes painted by some of the world’s most famous artists and hanging in various prestigious museums.The 30 values range from 1 to 30 bogshahs (in Roman numerals!), with paintings of the annunciation, birth, baptism, various miracles and parables, the Last Supper, resurrection, etc. Suitable for framing and displaying as art. These sheetlets are often seen CTO with little value, seldom MNH and in such pristine condition as this. Listed only in Michel as 678B-707B at Euros 60 (about $78).
