New York MAURICE LIBBY Impressionist Scholar PAINTING Description: Maurice Libby, Larchmont New York Artist.This painting is very impresionistic with thick goopy paint and depicts a Jewish Scholar and is properly titled on the reverse "The Scholar".The painting is an oil on canvas and retains a very nice gold gilt frame which has never been painted...The painting and frame date to the early 20th C. and is a well painted study of the gentleman. It is signed "Maurice Libby" lower left. Size: O/C measures 24" x 20" and with the frame is 30" x 25". Condition: Very good condition, could use a little cleaning, t are small spots with the painting, this is not damage but small spots that were light on paint from the artist hands, I pointed them out as they are accentuated in the photos....it is estate fresh and has never been touched....
