YOUNG CHANG U-109 UPRIGHT PIANO This is a modern, sleek, low piano, in a bright white polyester finish. The piano is approximately 20 years old and is an original white piano.....not refinished. The piano offers an attractive appearance, clean white keys, and potential good playability. It holds good tune, and is tuneable to modern concert pitch. It offers three pedals, with the middle pedal operating a damper system for quiet practise. There is room for improvement in the paintwork. There are areas on the lid at the very top that have chipped, and been filled. however, they still require smoothing and painting over. The screws in the hinge of the top lid need replacing. There are knocks and chips in a number of places on the rest of the body, that could be touched in, or repaired. One string is broken, replaceable at approximately £5 to £10 each, by your tuner/technician. The mechanism, hammers, felts etc. look in good condition. The piano plays evenly, with a light touch. There is a note or two that isn't working properly, but a tuner should be able to sort this at little cost. I recommend a general service by your tuner technician. Young Chang is an excellent make of piano. A Korean company with a very good reputation. Would have cost beyond £3000 when new.
