THIS KNIFE IS FROM MY COLLECTION AND HAS NEVER BEEN USED, SO I AM SHOWING IT AS NEW SOME INFORMATION REGARDING THE ZAKHAROV’S: ZAKHAROV is also the name of the family, who currently make quality knives in Brazil. They were already famous in Russia, when they were made by the family's patriarch, Mr. Arkhip. The Czar of Russia had for many years an unarmed army, as highly considered as the conventional one: the one of the craftsmen . Native or foreigners, they were in metalwork, gunnery, jewelry, clothing areas, and more. There were no schools or technical books to help in their education; they were artisans, so they learned from their parents their secrets. So generations of craftsmen were created. In that time, a "blacksmith" family became outstanding for the quality and strength of their swords: The Zakharov's. In 1963, Piotr Arkhipovitch Zakharov, aged 42, who migrated to Brazil and had excelled in other areas, realizing that the market lacked good quality knives, decided to make them. Along with his son, Carlos, he founded the famous brand ZAKHAROV. At first, he felt like giving up, when some "know-it-all" discouraged him, saying that they thought it would be impossible that a Brazilian knife would be better than an imported one. Idealism, courage, honesty and above all quality were his tools to prove them wrong. Thus ZAKHAROV managed to demystify this prejudice and in 1965, started to make his famous knives and exported them knives to the United States, Canada, South Africa and Europe. At that time, Brazilians would buy his knives abroad believing they were imported ones, paying a high price for them. He was able to create and make new concepts in cutlery. Thirty years later, when Zakharov already had an outstanding position in the area, Carlos Zakharov along with his sons, founded ARKHIP FACAS ESPECIAIS (Arkhip Especial Knives), aiming at continuing this family tradition that is already at its seventh generation.
