Hinged stamps are graded according to the following: SM (superb mint, barely a hinge mark to be seen), VFM (very fine mint with light hinge mark), FM (fine mint hinge remainder but not heavy), VGM (very good mint, heavier hinge remainder), GM (good mint, hinge remainder may be large but not too heavy ); superb mint being the lightest with barely a hinge remainder to be seen, with varying degrees of hinge remainders, down to GM which has a heavier/larger hinge remainder but all with original gum; any gum faults i.e. toning, gum creasing, thins etc. will be mentioned in the text.
