Offered at auction is a great performing 53 year old Zenith Trans-Oceanic # T600 Short Wave Portable Radio in a handsome Black Stag case. The case is in very good original condition considering this radio was designed to be carried around outside. T are no tears or snags. The dial face is exceptionally clear with no cracks. The Wave-Magnet and Vertical antennas are in excellent condition. The Operating Instructions, Log Chart and Cover are excellent. The AC Line Cord, Plug and Retractor are perfect. The original knobs have the gold inserts. I see one minor internal stress mark under the "Z" in Zenith. It is shown in one of the pictures. The radio size is 12"H,17-5/16"W,8"D and it weighs 18 lbs. The radio was thoroughly cleaned and all components tested and replaced as necessary. All moving parts were lubricated. The radio was then upgraded with a solid state diode circuit to replace the selenium rectifier and a zener regulation circuit to replace the 50A1. Both of these circuits maintain much tighter tolerances on the operating voltages than the original components and increase the safety and operational life of the radio. All operating voltages were checked and meet original factory specifications. The 7 bands were aligned to factory specifications and work superbly.
