Welcome to this auction. I am offering a Lortone 14 inch slab saw. This saw has been totally reconditioned from the ground up. This saw was completely disassembled and then starting with the bare case I removed all existing paint and rust then carefully checked for any leaks, hidden cracks or structural defects. Then it was prepared with two coats of a good quality primer then painted with two coats of blue paint for the finish coat. I then attached a set of angle iron legs with crossbraces to which I added a wood shelf used for holding the electric motor. T he motor is a heavy duty 1 horsepower Dayton electric motor. Then I cleaned and checked out all the components of the carrage and vice assembly replacing the feed screw that moves the material being cut into the blade when cutting. I upgraded this feed screw to a longer screw that extends out the front of the saw to which I attached a hand control that allows the carrage to be easily reset the carrage to the front of the saw to cut the next cut. This hand feed control also allows the rock to carefully be fed into the saw blade by feel without using the auto feed system. The saw has a used 14inch blade on it now.
