Excellent collection of 6 x 1640s King Charles I English Civil War military items ~ large grapeshot, 2 musket balls and 3 flintlock pistol balls. Found around Oxford. The grapeshot is 18mm diameter (weighs 32 grams), musket balls are 12mm diameter (weigh 12 grams) and the flintlock balls are 8mm diameter (weigh 4 grams). Brief history :- Oxford was the Royalist's headquarters during the Civil War and there were many battles & skirmishes in the Oxfordshire county area. The locations these were mainly found besides Oxford itself were Abingdon, Newbridge and the village of Stow-on-the-Wold. Superb selection fired over 450 years old.
