Large and Beautiful - 170 year old - Antique, Flow Blue Kaolin Ware Serving Platter - Dimmick "Bohemia" Pattern - - Made in England -- Measures 17 3/4 inches long and 13 3/4 inches across & the rim is 1 1/2 inches high -- Lovely indigo blue flower and leaf pattern also known as the "Bohemia" pattern -The registration diamond shows that this design was registered 22nd November 1844.Rhine - Kaolin Ware - D [for Dimmock] in the design registration diamond. KAOLIN WARE was a trade name and only used by British potter Thomas Dimmock & Co. who was manufacturing in Stoke, Staffordshire England 1828-1859.Also, the IV mark at the top of the diamond indicates this is a piece of clay ware.This piece looks nearly perfect to me - at least for something that is 170 years old! Scattered very, very light surface utensil marks - you have to look at the platter at an angle to see them. No chips, cracks, or repairs Some very light crazing mostly on the back A very wonderful and beautiful piece that you will be proud to have in your collection!
