London: Timothy Goodwin et al. 1719. 1020pp.Vol. 1 only (of four, plus a later two supplementary). The first edition. A large and heavy folio volume.MISSING the last leaf of text, and rear endpapers. Externally rough, textblock otherwise good. Includes the trials of Walter Raleigh, King Charles, and many others.Rear board detached, front board nearly detached with the first few leaves coming off with it. Boards very worn, chipped all around edges and corners, some damage/peeling to surfaces, rear board has traces of adhesives, spine badly chipped and cracked. Old library stamp, ownership signatures to title page. Pages have sporadic foxing, smudges, and creases, a few stains, a few notable edge tears, a few areas showing some browning and rippling in the margin.
