This legal document or land deed was hand written in 1741 and measures 18" x 26 1/2" and is written on vellum (pigskin).This is an official document with three 6-pence tax stamps applied; an applied paper stamp with Royal Cipher "GR" and #115 on it as well as two wax seals below and was written during the reign of King George II who was still the reigning monarch of North America at this time.The property was located in Christ Church, England and included the house, some out buildings and land owned by Martin Luthor, Yoaman and sold to Stephen Pack? of Buro for 36 pounds, 7 shillings and 6 pence. Those who participated in the signing or are mentioned in this deed (new owner; witnesses, property owners, etc) include the families of: Martin Luther; Stephen Luthor (executor of Estate-son of Martin); John & Robert Luthor (sons of Marten); William Pope of Waterdilth?; Thomas Briant; Stephen Pack; John Burton? of Blackwater; Mary and Joshua Scott (witnesses).
