1747 Antique map of Guinea Africa by J. Bellin Strongly engraved map that details the Guinea coast in west Africa. Locates several regions including the Kingdoms of Koto, Popo, Whidah (Juida), and the Kingdom of Ardra. Blank in the interior, but information along the coast is good including several villages and towns, mountains, rivers, and coastal features. Embellished with a compass rose and fleur-de-lys, rhumb lines and a large decorative rococo-style cartouche. Dark impression in perfect condition the measures 10.6 x 8 inch 27.0 x 20.4 cm .
