1776 $6.00 Continental Currency May 9, 1776This note is one of the authorized issues of Continental Currency dated May 9, 1776. The denomination is Six Spanish Milled Dollars. The note is printed by Hall and Sellers of Philadelphia, which was formerly known as Benjamin Franklin and Hall. If you look close enough, you can see small bits of mica woven into the paper to prevent counterfeiting. It is signed by Thomas Leech and John Howard. This note is in average circulated condition, but considering it is over 240 years old, that's actually remarkable that it looks as good as it does!
