1800s Antique French Rosary Handcut Amethyst & Silver ~ Fine Art Nouveau Piece ~ This very beautiful old rosary was made in Italy in the 1800s. It is silver, with hand-cut beads of a wonderful amethyst color. They are complemented with fancy silver medals surrounding the paters. I think these beads may be genuine amethyst, although I am not positive (they could be glass). The station medals, connector medal and crucifix are silver and all have gorgeous Art Nouveau designs. T are hallmarks on the bails.This rosary is complete with 59 beads (three are replacements, same color and size but smooth glass) and 10 silver station medals. It measures 19.5"/49.5 cm hanging length. The 1.5"/3.8 cm crucifix has an ornate scallop design; the back is engraved "Rome." A lovely, unique rosary for your collection.
